This is the website of Sheffield-based geographer and environmentalist, Dr Jonathan Bridge. Jon is an environmental geoscientist with particular interest in human-environment interactions and has research experience working with colleagues in Syria, Jordan, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, China and Iceland. His most recent research work focused on landscape systems and catchment futures.
Having left academic work in 2026, Jon is now an independent writer, thinker, advisor, mentor and occasional print-maker. He walks a lot and photographs what he comes across on his ramblings. He also bakes bread, keeps house and supports his wife, who is a priest. He is currently thinking about future climate risks and reading Bruno Latour.
